Susan Bowyer

Susan Bowyer, PhD, currently serves as an Associate Professor-Research in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology at Michigan State University, a position held since March 2022. With an extensive academic career, Bowyer has been an Associate Professor and previously an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University since January 2007, and holds various adjunct positions at Oakland University. Additionally, as a Senior Staff Medical Physicist at Henry Ford Health System since September 1992, Bowyer combines hands-on clinical expertise with academic pursuits. From November 2015 to December 2023, Bowyer actively contributed to the community as a City Council Member in Rochester Hills, emphasizing the importance of community building, youth support, and environmental preservation. Educational accomplishments include a PhD in Biomedical Physics from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Michigan-Flint.
