Mauricio Braia is a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Michroma, a startup utilizing CRISPR technology to develop sustainable and scalable biotech platforms for natural ingredient production since February 2019. With extensive academic experience, Mauricio served as an associate professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina from July 2016 to May 2023, teaching courses in biological chemistry and environmental microbiology, and at Universidad Nacional de Rosario from May 2005 to March 2023, focusing on biotechnological processes and project development. Additionally, Mauricio contributed as a senior research associate at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas from December 2016 to August 2021, where leadership in numerous research projects led to the publication of 14 scientific papers. Previously, as a staff researcher at KECLON, expertise in developing fermentation processes for industrial enzymes was gained. Mauricio holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from Universidad Nacional de Rosario and has completed multiple research fellowships at Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
