Glenner Richards

Director, Microbiology And Analytical Chemistry at Microban International

Glenner Richards has a diverse range of work experience in various scientific and educational roles. Glenner began their career as a Research and Development Agronomist/Plant Protection Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture in 1988. Glenner then worked as a Senior Standards Scientific Officer - Microbiology at the Jamaica Bureau of Standards from 1993 to 1995. Glenner then transitioned to the role of Research Officer at the Jamaica Agricultural Development Foundation in 1995. Glenner later became a Biology Teacher at Immaculate Conception High School from 1996 to 2000. In 2004, Glenner joined the Center for Food Safety at the University of Georgia as a Research Coordinator II. Simultaneously, they also joined Evangel University as an Associate Professor of Biology, a position they held until 2013. Glenner's most recent work experience includes roles at Microban International, where they held positions such as Scientist, Head of the Microbiology Department, and Director of Microbiology and Analytical Chemistry.

Glenner Richards holds a Ph.D. in Food Science & Technology with an emphasis on Food Safety/Food Microbiology from the University of Georgia. Prior to that, Glenner obtained a BSc in Biology and an MPhil in Botany from the University of the West Indies, Mona. In addition to these degrees, Glenner has obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from UNC Charlotte Continuing Education in January 2019.
