Virginia Fairclough

Director, Informatics at Microbiotica

Virginia Fairclough has worked in a variety of roles in the field of bioinformatics. In 2020, they began working at Microbiotica as the Associate Director of Bioinformatics and Senior Bioinformatician. Prior to this, they were a Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London from 2018. From 2016-2018, they were a Research Portfolio Analyst at MQ: Transforming Mental Health, and from 2016-2017, they were a Research Associate at Imperial College London.

Virginia Fairclough obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Imperial College London in 2008-2011. Virginia then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology from Imperial College London in 2011-2012. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Modelling microbial communities and their impact upon disease from Imperial College London in 2012-2016.
