Rita Szalay has worked in a variety of roles in the agricultural industry since 2002. Rita began their career as a Junior Research Associate at Gabonatermesztesi Kutato Kozhasznu Tarsasag / Cereal Research Non-Profit Company in 2002, before becoming Head of Oil Crop Laboratory at the same company. In 2005, they joined Monsanto as a Production Researcher and Production Research Manager. In 2009, they moved to Seminis as an EMEA Production Research Specialist. In 2010, they returned to Monsanto as a Global Production Research Specialist and Trainer in Lean and Six Sigma. In 2012, they joined Dow AgroSciences as a Corn Breeder and Station Leader, and at the same time, joined LIMAGRAIN as an International Sunflower Research Coordinator and Global Research Portfolio Manager. In 2021, they joined Syngenta as an EAME Corn Crop Lead, and in 2022, they joined Micropep Technologies as Head of Research Operations and Aranykapu Gyerekhaz as Curator.
Rita Szalay's education history includes a Master of Science in Plant Genetic and Plant Breeding from Szent István Egyetem in 1996-2002, a DEA in Biosciences Vegetales from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in 2002-2003, a DAA in Plant Breeding from ENSAT in 2000-2001, and a Lean Six Sigma MBB from SigmaPro Lean SixSigma MBB in 2011-2012. Rita also has certifications in Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from SigmaPro in 2010, Six Sigma Black Belt from Monsanto in 2008, Six Sigma Green Belt from Monsanto in 2006, and French-Hungarian Translator in Agronomy from Szent Istvan Egyetem in 2002.
