Melissa Fochesato

Director, Community Health at Mid Coast Hospital

Melissa Fochesato has a diverse background in public health, starting their career as a Public Health Educator at Maricopa County Public Health from 1995 to 1998. Melissa then moved on to Washtenaw County Health Department, where they continued their work as a Public Health Educator from 1999 to 2006. In 2007, Melissa joined Medical Care Development as an Assistant Project Director for the "21 Reasons" project. Later that same year, they joined Mid Coast Hospital as Partnership Director for Access Health and Substance Abuse Prevention, a role they held for over a decade until 2018. In their most recent position at Mid Coast Hospital, Melissa served as the Director of Community Health. Throughout their career, they have overseen various community health improvement initiatives, coordinated local health coalitions and boards, and managed state, foundation, and federally funded disease prevention grants. Melissa's work has focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing tobacco and substance abuse, and improving overall community health.

Melissa Fochesato is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Southern Maine, with an expected completion date in 2022. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health and Family Life Education from the University of Maine, which they completed between 1990 and 1994. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist from the State of Maine, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
