Head Of Content Acquisitions at Middle East Broadcasting Center

Syed Ali began their work experience in 2008 at the Royal Bank of Scotland as a Credit Analyst. In this role, they analyzed credit data and financial statements to assess the risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Syed also prepared reports and evaluated customer records to recommend payment plans based on various factors.

In 2012, Syed joined the Middle East Broadcasting Center (MBC) as a Senior Acquisitions Administrator. Syed was responsible for managing content acquisitions from independent distributors for various MBC channels, including Western Channels, Sports Channels, MBC Bollywood, MBC+ Power, and MBC 3. Additionally, they assisted in acquiring content from major Hollywood studios for the Western Channels and managed OTT content acquisitions for the SVOD service Shahid+.

Later, Syed became a Senior Acquisitions Executive at MBC, further expanding their responsibilities. Syed continued managing content acquisitions for different channels and specialized in Western content from major Hollywood studios and independent sources, along with Kids Content, Sports content, Documentaries, Bollywood, Lifestyle, and Travel. Syed also had budgetary responsibilities, ensuring acquisition and programming budgets aligned with yearly targets for each channel.

Throughout their work experience, Syed Ali demonstrated expertise in content acquisitions, particularly in Western content and independent distributors.

Syed Ali attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2020 for the Negotiations Programme. In 2006, they pursued an MBA at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, specializing in buyer behaviour and the market place, advances in strategic management. Syed also obtained a Diploma in Filmmaking from SAE institute Dubai in 2013. Syed'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Business Information Systems from Middlesex University, which they completed from 2001 to 2005.
