Natan Sachs

Senior Fellow

Natan Sachs is a notable expert in US Mideast policy, Israeli foreign policy, and politics, currently serving as a Senior Fellow at the Middle East Institute, with this position beginning in September 2025. Previously, Natan held the role of Director at the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution from January 2012 to May 2025, where research focused on Israeli politics and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Natan also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University in 2013 and was a Hewlett Pre-Doctoral Fellow at Stanford University's Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law from September 2010 to June 2011. Natan received a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, graduating from the "Amirim" excellence program in Cognitive Science and Philosophy. Natan’s early career included a Fulbright Fellowship in Indonesia from 2007 to 2008.
