Reece Kimsey

Partner, Head Of Site Acquisitions at Middleburg Communities

Reece Kimsey's work experience begins in 2012 with a role as a Real Estate Auction Specialist at Kimsey Auction Team, where they organized and marketed real estate auctions. In 2014, they gained experience as a Wake Forest Student Consultant at Reynolds American, Inc., delivering operational suggestions and findings to various departments. Reece then worked as a Winter Associate in the Real Estate Finance Group at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where they drafted legal documentation for commercial real estate transactions. In 2015, Reece served as a Judicial Legal Intern for Honorable Judge J. Douglas McCullough, NC Court of Appeals, performing analysis and legal research. Reece also worked as a Business Research Fellow at Wake Forest Community and Business Law Clinic, advising clients on business formations. Reece joined Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in 2015 as an Associate Attorney, specializing in real estate and commercial development. Reece reviewed and drafted various documents for commercial real estate projects. In 2017, Reece held roles as Vice President of Land Acquisition at Blake Wilder Strategies and Vice President of Acquisition at Kimsey Auction Team. Reece became a Managing Principal at Wayah Wake Real Estate Advisors that same year. Reece currently works at Middleburg Communities, where they have held the roles of Director of Acquisitions, VP of Site Acquisitions, and currently serves as Principal and Head of Site Acquisitions. In this capacity, they are responsible for developing and executing the company's acquisition strategy.

Reece Kimsey completed a Doctor of Law (JD) degree at Wake Forest University School of Law from 2012 to 2015, with a focus on Commercial Real Estate and Finance Law. During the same period, Reece also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Wake Forest University School of Business, specializing in Corporate Finance. Earlier, from 2008 to 2011, Reece received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Reece Kimsey has also obtained several certifications, including being a Licensed North Carolina Attorney since 2015, a Licensed South Carolina Attorney, Licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker, and a Licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker, all obtained in 2018.
