Midland Tool has been servicing its customers since 1962 with the most recognized service and supplies in the industry. Midland’s customers range from some of the world’s largest contractors, industrial plants and factories, to local mechanical, electrical and steel erection.

The Diesel Technician Position:

To assist their growing business, Midland Tool has hired a Diesel Technician with good attention to detail for the position. The primary duties of a Diesel Technician  include performing diagnostic tests on diesel motors to find faults, analyzing diagnostic test results and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Running diagnostic tests on equipment.

  • Analyzing diagnostic test results.

  • Replacing engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.

  • Checking equipment lighting systems.

  • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.

  • Performing preventative maintenance.

  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced equipment

  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.

  • Maintaining a parts inventory.

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.

  • Good IT and diagnostic skills.

  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds.

  • Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Good organization skills.
