Karine Tokatlian

Resource Management Specialist II at Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District

Karine Tokatlian is a highly experienced resource management specialist and biologist with a focus on avian conservation, particularly the Western Snowy Plover. Currently serving as Resource Management Specialist II at Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District since August 2017, Tokatlian also holds the position of Plover Program Director at the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory, managing the WSPL program and acting as a primary biologist for its recovery efforts. Previous roles include conducting biological surveys and nest monitoring for California State Parks, where Tokatlian gained authorization on US Fish and Wildlife Service permits. Tokatlian's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Science in Field and Wildlife Biology from California Polytechnic State University.
