Amirhossein Kazemnejad is a skilled research professional currently serving as a Research Assistant at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute since December 2023, following a tenure as a Graduate Student at the same institution from January 2021 to September 2023. During this time, Amirhossein contributed to notable projects, including demonstrating that Transformer decoders do not require positional encoding and examining the vulnerabilities of positional encoding in pre-trained language models, in collaboration with IBM Research. Additionally, Amirhossein completed a research internship at Noah's Ark Lab under the supervision of Dr. Prasanna Parthasarathi, focusing on the disparity between knowledge acquisition and utilization in large language models. An earlier role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Sharif University of Technology involved enhancing the Transformer architecture with a retrieval module for retrieval-augmented generation. Amirhossein holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from McGill University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.
