Alexandra Newman has over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. Alexandra began their career in 1992 as a Category Manager at Kiwisol. In 1995, they moved to Sonae MC as a Category Manager for Fruits and Vegetables, where they developed and implemented a forecast model that led to the elimination of in-store product stock and enabled significant cost savings. In 1997, they completed an internship at C.H. Robinson Company, where they successfully established business partners in Brazil that led to the export of 40 containers of produce in the 3rd month of starting contacts. In 1998, they joined General Mills as a Marketing Manager Innovation for the Totino's Division. There, they identified a 5-year innovation pipeline and led the development of communication strategies and plans for new launches, including the launch of two new frozen Hot Snacks that delivered convenience and superior quality, achieving $20MM in year 1 sales. In 2002, they moved to Numico/Rexall Sundown as a Senior Marketing Manager. In 2003, they joined Unilever USA as a Marketing Manager for Slim Fast Foods, where they repositioned the SlimFast brand to direct product use according to weight loss goals, resulting in $25MM sales growth in the first year and reversing the declining trend. In 2006, they joined Abbott as a Global Senior Director of Marketing Adult, Diabetic and Pediatric Nutrition. In this role, they led Abbott Nutrition's global adult, diabetic and specialized pediatric nutrition brands portfolio through significant growth and expansion of customer acquisition methods. Alexandra was the first individual to propose and create an innovative global brand team that managed marketing operations to maximize spending efficiencies. In 2013, they moved to Mead Johnson Nutrition as a Senior Marketing Director, where they led the global expansion of the Enfamil/Enfagrow liquid formula. In 2015, they joined Dairy Farmers of America as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Vice President of Commercial Business Development. In 2022, they began their current role as Chief Executive Officer at Milkadamia.
Alexandra Newman has a diverse educational background. Alexandra received their MBA from the University of Florida in 1998, specializing in International Business, Marketing and Finance. Prior to that, they earned their Masters of Science from the University of Florida in 1995, specializing in Food Science/Horticultural Sciences. Alexandra also holds a Licenciatura from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, which they completed in 1992 with a focus in Engenharia Alimentar.
