Jane H. Yamashiro

Co Director, Research Justice At The Intersections Fellowship Program at Mills College

Jane H. Yamashiro has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jane H. currently holds the position of Co Director, Research Justice at the Intersections Fellowship Program at Mills College since August 2021. Prior to this role, they were a Research Scholar at Mills College starting from June 2020. Jane H. also served as a Research Justice at the Intersections Fellow from June 2019 to June 2020 and as a Visiting Research Fellow from January 2019 to May 2019 at Mills College. In addition, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Mills College from August 2018 to December 2018.

Jane H. Yamashiro obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology & Japanese Studies from UC San Diego from 1990 to 1995. Jane H. then pursued higher education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they obtained a Master's and Ph.D. degree in Sociology from 2000 to 2008. In addition, they participated in the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies (IUC) in 2004-2005 to enhance their proficiency in the Japanese language. Jane H. also attended the East-West Center from 2002 to 2005 as a Graduate Degree Fellow. Prior to their university education, they completed their secondary education at Berkeley High School from 1986 to 1990.
