Gainovry A Djafar Mohd Ishak

Gainovry A Djafar Mohd Ishak has extensive work experience in various roles and companies within the construction and project management sector. Starting in 1983 as a Project Coordinating Engineer with GKM-C.Itoh/Fudo JV, they later worked in roles such as Contracts Administration Engineer at Pengurusan Leburaya Berhad and Contract Administration Manager at Pengurusan Lebuhraya Bhd.

In 1993, they became the Works Monitoring Manager at Projek Usahasama Transit Ringan Automatik (PUTRA) before joining Bumi Hiway group as the Head of Contracts in 1997. Gainovry A Djafar then worked at Kumpulan Ikhtisas Projek (M) Sdn Bhd as an Associate Director, overseeing projects such as the Jelutong Sewage Treatment Plant and the Seremban-Johor Bahru Double Tracking Project.

In 2002, they joined Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, first as the Head of Asset Development Division and later as the CEO of KLRT Consult Sdn Bhd. At Prasarana, they played a key role in the development and management of various assets.

In 2009, they joined Iskandar Investment Berhad, serving as Executive Director for SJIC Bina Sdn Bhd and later for IDMS Sdn Bhd. During this time, they were involved in the design and construction of road projects in Johor Bahru and Iskandar Puteri, as well as major projects such as Legoland Malaysia, EduCity, and Medini infrastructure.

Currently, they hold the position of Head of Project Management & Contract Administration at Minconsult Sdn Bhd since 2018. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing projects such as the Phnom Penh - Sihanoukville Expressway, SUKE (ICE), Warisan Merdeka 118, MRT, LRT3, KBRT, and RTS. Notably, they led the cost review of a major urban transit contract, resulting in substantial savings for the Malaysian Government.

Gainovry A Djafar Mohd Ishak completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from 1978 to 1983. Later, from 1994 to 1996, they pursued a Diploma in Management at the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM). The field of study for the diploma is not specified.
