Pravin Devaraju

Pravin Devaraju has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Pravin started their career as a Research Assistant at UNITEN R&D, where they worked on a project related to the development of a utility-scale solar power plant. Pravin investigated the effects of environmental conditions on the performance of photovoltaic systems and designed a 5MW PV model using DIgSILENT software.

After that, Pravin joined TNB RESEARCH SDN. BHD. as a Researcher (R&D Engineer), where they drafted guidelines and conducted simulation studies for grid-connected photovoltaic generation systems. Pravin also investigated the impact of various levels of PV penetration on LV and MV grids and identified mitigation measures for negative power quality effects.

Pravin then joined GUTOR ELECTRONIC ASIA PACIFIC SDN BHD by Schneider Electric as a Field Service Engineer. In this role, they commissioned, installed, maintained, and troubleshooted GUTOR's Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and Direct Current Charger Systems. Pravin worked on projects in the oil & gas, power generation, and nuclear plant industries.

After that, Pravin worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer at A. Pengerang Co-Gen Power Plant, where they reviewed design briefs, drawings, and calculations prepared by Siemens for submission and approval to authorities for LV electrical services. Pravin also designed electrical systems for lighting, small & maintenance power, and power distribution for various buildings.

Most recently, Pravin joined Minconsult Sdn Bhd as an Electrical Engineer. Pravin has held multiple roles within the company, including Assistant Manager and Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for detailed design, preparing concept drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and tender documents for various large-scale solar and low voltage distribution projects. Pravin also coordinated with sub-consultants, researched new technologies, and liaised with local authorities.
