Angela Abadia Zapata

Angela Abadia Zapata is an accomplished professional in the field of nuclear safety and radiation protection, currently serving as Presidenta of WiN ARCAL since August 2024. Angela also holds the position of Contratista for SECURED TRANSPORTATION SERVICES LLC, supporting radiological safety initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. As a Contratista for the Grupo de Asuntos Nucleares at the Ministerio de Minas y Energía since January 2018, Angela provides technical assistance in the development of regulations for the safe use of radioactive materials in Colombia and is a key leader in establishing the WiN (Women in Nuclear) Colombia network. Additionally, Angela has held various roles including Secretaria Ejecutiva for WiN ARCAL and Presidenta of WiN Colombia. With a solid educational background including a Master's in Medical Physics from Instituto Balseiro and a degree in Engineering Physics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Angela has extensive experience in radiological protection, having previously served as a radiological protection officer in multiple organizations.
