Alejandro Herrera Alvarez

Alejandro Herrera Alvarez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management and engineering within the mining sector. Currently serving as a Project Leader Consultant at SMEC since September 2020, Alejandro provides direct advisory support to the Director of Engineering and Reliability at CODELCO. Previous roles include Project Control Engineer and Reliability Consultant Engineer, both focused on asset management and maintenance planning. Additionally, Alejandro represents the College of Engineers of Chile in the Civil Society Council of the Ministry of Mining and has worked as a freelance engineer specializing in asset management and operational safety. Alejandro's earlier experience includes roles at CERSAM Engineering and Comercial Herroll Ltda, demonstrating a strong foundation in project supervision and technical analysis. Alejandro holds a Diplomatura in Business and Mining Operations Management from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a degree in Civil Engineering in Metallurgy from Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
