Peter Edwards

Peter Edwards is a seasoned professional in political sociology and social science, currently serving as a Senior Researcher at the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science Limited and as the National Contact Point for Food Agriculture Bioeconomy Environment Natural Resources for Horizon Europe at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Edwards holds multiple roles including a Member of the ISC Global Roster of Experts for the International Science Council, Co-Editor-in-Chief for the International Association for Society and Natural Resources, and Trustee for the New Zealand Institute of Forestry Foundation. Previous experience includes leading research in social-ecological practice at Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research Group, focusing on forest policy and community engagement at Scion Group, and academic roles at Lincoln University and SLU. Edwards possesses a PhD in Environmental Studies from Griffith University and a diverse educational background in environmental science and languages.
