Programme Technical Officer (uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Programme For Results (ugift) at Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development

Samuel Opio is an experienced professional currently serving as a Programme Technical Officer for the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Programme for Results (UGIFT) at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development since January 2020. In this role, Samuel Opio provides technical support for the design and implementation of fiscal decentralization reforms in Uganda, focusing on a World Bank programme valued at US$500 million that supports decentralized initiatives in education, health, water, and agriculture. Prior to this position, Samuel Opio worked as a Fiscal Decentralization Officer from July 2011 to May 2022 at the same ministry. Samuel Opio holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Makerere University, obtained between 2005 and 2009.
