Lisbet Zilmer-Johns has an extensive work experience in various positions related to foreign policy and international relations. Lisbet currently serves as the State Secretary for Foreign Policy at Udenrigsministeriet since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Director General and Acting Director General at Danish Critical Supply Agency from December 2020 to present.
Between July 2019 and August 2020, they worked as the Under Secretary for Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. From September 2017 to June 2019, they served as the Under-Secretary for Global Politics and Security in the same ministry.
Lisbet Zilmer-Johns also has experience working in the European Union, where they served as the PSC Ambassador at the Permanent Representation of Denmark from August 2013 to August 2017.
In the past, Lisbet Zilmer-Johns held a significant position at the PM Office as the Head of Department from 2005 to August 2013. Lisbet started their career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark in November 1992 as the Head of Section and chief advisor, and they worked there until October 2005.
Lisbet Zilmer-Johns attended the University of Copenhagen from 1986 to 1992. Lisbet pursued further education at The London School of Economics and Political Science, receiving an MSc in Government from 1990 to 1991.
