Roomet Sõrmus

Roomet Sõrmus currently serves as a diplomat in the Estonian Embassy in Berlin, focusing on economic affairs since January 2023. Prior to this role, Roomet held the position of Chairman of the Board at the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce for 15 years. Additional leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of COPA COGECA, a European farmers organization, from September 2020 to September 2022, and as a member of the European Economic and Social Committee from October 2015 to September 2020. Earlier experience includes working as a counselor for EU affairs in the Riigikantselei and completing an internship at the Deutscher Bundestag. Roomet's academic background includes a Master of Science in International Agricultural Sciences from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Estonian University of Life Sciences.
