Sarah Petersen

Sarah Petersen is the Director of the MFA Program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, a position held since August 2022. With a professional art practice dating back to 2006, Sarah has also served as an Artist-in-Residence and Sustainability and Public Health Fellow at the Minnesota Department of Transportation from March 2022 to May 2023. Previous roles include Adjunct Professor at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Lecturer at the University of Minnesota's Department of Art, and Founder of Material Therapy, which focuses on organizing for creative clients in Minneapolis and Los Angeles. Sarah's educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts and dual degrees in Art, English, and Cultural Studies from the University of Minnesota. Additional experience includes teaching for various institutions and producing artistic programs.
