Dawn Witt, Ph.D, MPH

Dawn Witt, Ph.D, MPH has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dawn has held various roles at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, starting in 2009 as a Research Assistant and progressing to Managing Scientist, Scientific Advisor, Senior Scientist, and currently as the Program Director of the Heart Rhythm Science Center. Their work primarily focuses on research and evaluation projects related to heart health.

In addition to their work at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, Dawn also worked as a Research Assistant and Research Practicum at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing from 2010 to 2012. Dawn was also a Graduate Student Representative at the University's School of Nursing Awards Committee from 2010 to 2011.

Before pursuing their career in research, Dawn gained early experience through internships at People's Development Initiatives and Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights in 2008 and 2003 respectively. These experiences allowed their to develop a strong foundation in social justice and human rights issues.

Dr. Dawn Witt holds a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Minnesota, which they received in 2014. Prior to obtaining their doctorate, they earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health Education from the same university in 2009. In 2003, Dr. Witt completed their undergraduate studies, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Global Studies, also from the University of Minnesota.
