Kristin Makholm

Board Member at Minnesota Citizens for the Arts

Kristin Makholm is a respected scholar in the field of art history with a BA from Northwestern University and an MA and PhD from the University of Minnesota. She has worked in the curatorial field at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the St. Louis Art Museum, and as Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Milwaukee Art Museum. She was Director of Galleries and Exhibitions at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design from 2004 to 2009, where she also taught art history and managed the Jerome Emerging Artists Fellowship and the McKnight Artists Fellowship Programs. Kristin won a Minnesota Book Award in 2014 for the M’s exhibition catalogue Modern Spirit: The Art of George Morrison.
