Jessica Jurcek

Project Specialist at Minnesota Department of Agriculture

Jessica Jurcek's work experience begins in 2014 as a Bus Person at Jansen's Banquet and Catering, where they gained experience in food preparation, serving, event setup, and facility cleaning. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as a Summer Program Assistant at Renewing the Countryside, assisting with Farm to Early Care programming and creating social media content and newsletters. In 2021, they interned as a NOAA Hollings Program Intern at NOAA, where they developed recommendations for relocating a water quality monitoring station. From 2021 to the present, they have been employed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, first as a Student Clerical Worker and currently as a Project Specialist. In their current role, they assist with program operations and is involved in designing and launching a new soil health grant program for Minnesota farmers. In 2022, they briefly worked as a Staff Professional at Antea Group USA. Lastly, from 2018 to 2022, they served as a Communications Assistant for Sustainability Education at the Institute on the Environment, University of Minnesota, where they organized events, created newsletters, and promoted sustainability education programs on campus.

Jessica Jurcek attended the University of Minnesota from 2018 to 2022, where they pursued a dual degree in Environmental Science, Policy, & Management and Professional Journalism. Jessica'sprimary field of study was Environmental Science.
