Shona Murray

Shona Murray has extensive work experience in the medical field. Shona is currently serving as the Chief Medical Director at Securian Financial since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Medical Director for Securian Financial from May 2020 to May 2023. Before joining Securian Financial, Shona was a Medical Director at Gleaner Life Insurance Society from September 2018 to May 2020. Shona also worked as a Family Practice Physician at NHS Western Isles from December 2000 to July 2007. Shona has held multiple roles at NHS Highland, including a Family Practice Locum Physician from January 2000 to October 2000, and a Family Practice Physician from August 1996 to January 2000. Shona started their career at NHS Greater Glasgow, where they served as a Senior House Officer in various departments, such as Dermatology, Accident and Emergency, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Infectious Diseases/Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and Geriatric Medicine. Shona also worked as a Junior House Officer in General Medicine at NHS Western Isles and in General Surgery at NHS Lanarkshire.

Shona Murray attended The University of Glasgow in the UK from 1985 to 1990, where they obtained a degree in Medicine (MBChB). Shona further pursued their education and obtained additional certifications including MRCGP from the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1995, and a Certificate of Prescribed Experience in General Practice from JCPTGP in 1994.
