Artistic Administrator at Minnesota Opera

Salvatore S. Vasta, III is the Artistic Administrator at Minnesota Opera. Prior to their current position, Vasta worked as the Artistic Manager at Madison Opera from August 2012 to April 2021. In their role as Artistic Manager, they were responsible for assisting in managing the artistic needs and resources for the company’s mainstage productions, site-specific productions, free outdoor concert, fundraisers, and special events. Salvatore also coordinated and presented at several Community Engagement programs including the High School Apprentice Program, Student Matinee, community previews, and other outreach events. Working with the General Director, Vasta corresponded with agents/artists to resolve logistics and issues surrounding contracts, prepared and sent contracts for cast/designers, tracked contracts, and ensured contracts are countersigned and returned. Salvatore arranged all artist/designer housing and travel; maintained relationships with travel, housing/hotel, and other vendors, as well as medical professionals. Vasta also designed and implemented the donor development tracking within Tessitura, and has experience placing ticket orders for patrons. Additional duties included managing ticket requests; responding to diverse artistic, budget, contractual and logistical inquiries from colleagues within the company; managed reports and update databases to ensure current information; proofed all marketing and grant materials; fielded and resolved questions from managers, opera administrators and other colleagues; and other duties as assigned.

They are on a team with Symone Harcum - Company Artist, Celeste Marie Johnson - Principal Coach & Chorus Director, and Efrain Corralejo - Resident Artist. Salvatore S. Vasta, III reports to Joseph Li, VP, Artistic.
