Jaylan Sims

Jaylan Sims is a communication studies student at Vanderbilt University, expected to graduate in May 2026, with a focus on the communication of science and technology. Current experience includes a radio reporting internship at MPR News since May 2025, and a previous role as a Humanities in the Real World Fellow at the Robert Penn Warren Center for the Humanities. At The Vanderbilt Hustler, Jaylan served as Podcasts Editor, Deputy Podcasts Director, and contributed as a staff writer and podcaster, enhancing the publication's audio content and audience engagement. Additional experience includes multimedia reporting internships at Nashville Banner and WDEF-TV, where a strong foundation in journalism and media production was established through various roles such as radio host and news director for campus radio stations.
