David Franke

David Franke is an experienced professional in the field of mechanical engineering and outdoor recreation. Currently serving as the Head Route Setter at Minnesota State University, Mankato since September 2015, David oversees route setting operations at the university's rock climbing gym, while also teaching and supervising fellow route setters. Prior experience includes an internship at Abacus Engineering (BARK.L Consulting Engineers) in mid-2015, where David contributed to HVAC and plumbing design projects, notably analyzing a local casino's pool area. David’s early role as a Rock Climbing Tech, Maintenance, and Water Craft Operator at Wilderness Canoe Base in the summer of 2014 highlights a strong background in climbing and outdoor activities. David holds a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Minnesota State University, Mankato, earned between 2013 and 2017.
