David Sharlin

David Sharlin is a Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Minnesota State University, Mankato, since August 2012. Additionally, David has owned Sunset Haven Farm and Vineyard since July 2012. Between 2007 and 2012, David served as a Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, focusing on thyroid hormone action and transport in mammalian inner ear development. Prior experience includes instructing courses on stem cells and human health at the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences and conducting research on thyroid hormone's role in brain development at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. David began a career in research as a Technician at Massachusetts General Hospital, where involvement in photodynamic therapy for cancer treatment took place. David holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a B.S. in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire.
