Pat Nelson

Pat Nelson is a Full Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Criminal Justice at Minnesota State University, Mankato, since July 2022, having previously served as an Associate Professor from August 2012 to June 2020. Pat's background in law enforcement includes extensive experience as a police officer and sergeant with the Minneapolis Police Department from June 1997 to November 2013, where responsibilities included crisis negotiation, field training, investigation, and academy training. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University (2010-2013), a Master's degree in Public and Non-Profit Administration from Metro State University (2001-2003), and a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement from Metro State University (1994-1997).
