Laura Meyer

VP Business Intelligence at Minnesota Timberwolves

Laura Meyer is in her 15th season with the Timberwolves & Lynx, her fourth as Vice President of Business Intelligence. Prior to her current role, she served as Sr. Director of Business Intelligence and Director of Revenue Strategy and Operations.

In 2019, Meyer was named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by the National Diversity Council, a distinction awarded to trailblazers who are molding the future of technology with their insight and leadership.

Meyer is responsible for the driving the organization’s business objectives and strategic initiatives through data acquisition, analysis and visualization. She spearheaded the implementation of the team’s data warehouse and its integration with all sales and marketing technologies to enable automation, optimize efficiency, and identify opportunities for revenue growth. With a focus on innovation and fan experience, Meyer has played an integral role in the team’s conversion to digital tickets netting 90%+ mobile adoption, launched of the mobile app in 2017, the first of its kind in the Twin Cities sports scene and is spearheading the strategy to further integrate the app into the arena gameday experience.

She has additionally led a variety of the organization’s initiatives including moving the fan concessions POS to have mobile ordering in compliance with current and future COVID standards. Meyer worked with various entities including Target Center, the City of Minneapolis, and Levy Restaurants to ensure continuing the innovation in the organization’s push in the mobile space.

As part of the organization’s COVID-19 response, Meyer led the charge in the company’s social distance modeling for Target Center capacity. In that initiative, she handled the overall forecasting and revenue projecting based on the various modeling the NBA was presenting teams throughout the 2020 offseason.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Meyer graduated magna cum laude from the University Scholars honors program at Xavier University with a degree in Sports Management and double minor in Business and Psychology. She is a founding member of the Timberwolves and Lynx Women’s Leadership Council focusing on professional development and growth of women in the workplace. She also has a passion for animals and spends time volunteering thru Secondhand Hounds’ Secondhand Hope program doing companion animal visits at assisted living and memory care facilities. Meyer and her husband, Jon, live in the south metro with their four dogs.
