VP, Hockey Strategy at Minnesota Wild

Mat Sells is currently the VP of Hockey Strategy at the Minnesota Wild. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Enterprise Data Governance & Integration at Experian from November 2019 to September 2021. In this role, they led a team of technical business analysts who were responsible for building business cases and detailed requirements for data marts and business intelligence solutions. Mat also served as the lead business analyst and program manager for the implementation of these projects using a cross functional team of IT professionals, BI developers, and business subject matter experts. Some of their successful deployments include a comprehensive data mart for global procurement, multiple integrated and standardized data marts for product volumes (unit sales), and standardized global sales pipeline reporting. The team was built from scratch starting in December 2019.

From November 2017 to November 2019, Sells was the Principal at Mattwells Consulting, LLC. Before that, they served as the Head of Customer Insights & Analytics at Clarivate Analytics from October 2016 to November 2017, and at Thomson Reuters from January 2005 to October 2016.

Mat Sells has a BS in Statistics from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA in Marketing from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Mat is certified by Tableau Software as a Tableau Analyst and Tableau Author.

They are on a team with Chris O'Hearn - Assistant General Manager, Brad Bombardir - Director of Player Development, and Judd Brackett - Director of Amateur Scouting. Mat Sells reports to Bill Guerin, General Manager.
