Peter Wright has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Peter currently works at the Minnesota Zoo as a Sales Lead, where they oversee sales efforts. Prior to that, they worked at Crayola as a Marketing and Sales Manager, responsible for marketing and sales activities at a major retail attraction.
Before joining Crayola, Peter worked at the Minnesota Zoo again as a Sales Service Representative, where they successfully increased sales for private catered events. Peter drafted proposals and responded to RFPs for these events.
Peter also has experience in the museum industry, having worked at the Science Museum of Minnesota as a Manager Reservation Services and Sales. In this role, they managed the Contact Center, handled reservations, sold memberships, and supervised staff. Peter later became the Group Sales Manager, responsible for driving ticket sales for special exhibits and coordinating group marketing initiatives.
Prior to that, Peter worked at the Mall of America as a Group Sales Account Executive, focusing on ticket sales and banquet and catering sales. Peter also worked at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts as a Group & Corporate Sales Account Executive, managing the group sales department and overseeing promotional efforts.
Peter's earlier career includes a role as an Account Coordinator at Carlson Marketing, where they coordinated meetings and negotiated contracts for banquet and hotel services.
Peter Wright obtained a B.S. in Hotel Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout from 1984 to 1989. Prior to that, they graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1984. Additionally, they have received certifications in Bloodborne Pathogens and HIV, Fire and Emergency Evacuation 2022, Hazard Communication Basic, Train-the-Trainer: Training Methods, and is a Licensed Realtor. Peter also obtained an IATA Travel Agent certification in 1994.
