Joy Burnett has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 1996, they joined ASB Showgrounds as a Receptionist/Administrator and stayed until 1999. Joy then worked as a freelance accounts support for the CEO of nakedbus.com using MYOB from 2006 to 2008.

In 2004, Joy became a Camp America Interviewer, a role they held until 2009. From 2007 to 2021, they held multiple positions at ASB Showgrounds, including Senior Administrator - Accounts, H&S & HR, Senior Administrator, and Administrator. Joy'sresponsibilities included overseeing monthly accounts and managing a small team, assisting with monthly accounts for external accountants, providing HR support, and maintaining ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices accreditation.

Since 2013, Joy has also worked as an Administrator for the NZ Ukulele Trust, coordinating workshops, rehearsals, volunteers, and festival organization. Lastly, they recently joined Mint Innovation as an Operations Manager in 2021.

Joy Burnett completed their postgraduate diploma in business with a specialization in Human Resource Management from The University of Auckland from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate degree in Environmental Management with a focus on Environmental Studies from The Manchester Metropolitan University between 1989 and 1992.
