Amritaa focuses her practice on US patent prosecution and counseling for clients in the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, and financial services industries. She advises clients on patent strategy, handles all aspects of patent prosecution, responds to actions before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and provides litigation support for patent infringement cases and post-grant proceedings. Her practice also encompasses conducting patent validity and infringement analyses and freedom-to-operate searches, preparing patentability opinions, and managing IP due diligence projects for corporate transactions.
Amritaa’s patent experience spans a broad range of technical areas, including AI-based medical imaging technology, AI-based radiology oncology devices, neurological devices, intra-aortic pumps, electroencephalogram (EEG) based technology, hemodialysis machines, cardiovascular stents, machine learning, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, video games, user interface design and technologies related to stock exchanges, credit card applications, and mechanical industries. She has also conducted research on how machine learning techniques can be used to predict epileptic events as well as in the areas of neuroengineering, computational neuroscience, concussions and brain trauma, and brain-computer interfaces.
Prior to joining Mintz, Amritaa was a patent agent and a technical advisor at a global law firm, where she managed the filing and prosecution of US and international utility and design patent applications and counseled clients on a broad spectrum of patent issues.
