Adriana Merino Zamora

Adriana Merino Zamora has a diverse work experience in various fields related to sustainability, engineering, and mining. Adriana began their career as a Scholarship holder in the Mining and Geology Department at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where they contributed to the development of technical manuals and translated research papers. Adriana then worked as a Junior Metallurgist in the Mineral Processing Department at Proyecto Riotinto - Atalaya Mining, conducting a research study for their bachelor's final project.

Adriana later joined the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) as a Research Assistant in the Process Metallurgy Department. There, they assisted in the European CHROMIC project, focusing on sustainable materials management and resource recovery from industrial waste.

Adriana then worked as a Graduate Engineer at McAllister Group, where they contributed to the HS2 rail project, specifically in sewer remediation and maintenance in the London area. Adriana liaised with project stakeholders and handled technical and social aspects.

Currently, Adriana is working at Minviro as a Sustainability Analyst and Sustainability Scientist. In these roles, they quantify the environmental impacts of mining and refining projects, applies life cycle assessment methodology, and provides insight on impact mitigation strategies. Adriana also works on European and UK grants related to mining and battery raw materials supply chains and provides consulting on LCA for mining and battery projects worldwide.

Adriana Merino Zamora has a strong educational background in mining engineering and mineral processing. Adriana completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Technology Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2014 to 2019. During this time, they also obtained certification in Open Pit and Underground Mining Design and Topography from SolMine SRL and RPTec in December 2017.

In 2017 and 2018, Adriana pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Geology at The University of Freiburg. However, the specific field of study for this degree is not provided.

Additionally, they have certifications in "SQL for Data Science" from Coursera and "Advanced English Certificate (CAE) C1" from the British Council, acquired in 2021 and 2015 respectively. Finally, Adriana obtained an "IELTS Academic" certification from IELTS Official in 2019.
