Head of Software Engineering at Mirada Medical

Lottie Thomas started their work experience in 2011 as an Assistant Crew member at Eurohire Sound and Light, where they gained hands-on experience in stage building, equipment setup, and troubleshooting. In 2011, they also worked as a Drinks Analyst at Mars Drinks, where they performed quality control testing on drinks and machines.

In 2014, Lottie joined the University of Surrey as a Student Ambassador for a brief period. Later that year, they began their role as an Engineering Intern at Focusrite Audio Engineering Limited. In this position, they provided general assistance to engineers, including building prototypes, modifying designs, and testing circuit configurations. Lottie then became a Trainee Firmware Engineer, responsible for designing and implementing embedded firmware using C or C++. Lottie was promoted to Junior Firmware Engineer in 2018, where their focus was on firmware design and implementation.

In 2018, Lottie joined Mirada Medical as a Software Engineer. Lottie subsequently moved up to the position of Senior Software Engineer and then became the Principal Software Architect, leading the software engineering team for the deep learning radiation oncology division. Lottie'sresponsibilities included driving improvements to systems and processes, ensuring software quality, and managing a team of five developers.

Lottie's most recent role at Mirada Medical is as the Head of Software Engineering, which they assumed in October 2022. This role involves overseeing software engineering operations and maintaining the quality of the organization's software and code.

Lottie Thomas has a diverse education history, beginning in 2010 when they attended Queen Mary's College, Basingstoke. There, they pursued A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Music Technology until 2012.

From 2012 to 2016, Lottie continued their education at the University of Surrey, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister).

In 2017, Lottie went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Software Engineering at the prestigious University of Oxford. Lottie completed their master's degree in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Lottie has also obtained two certifications. In April 2021, they received the Confluent Fundamentals Accreditation for Apache Kafka from Confluent. Later, in July 2022, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, having completed the certification program offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
