Jan Diesend

Jan Diesend has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. They most recently worked as the Head of Laboratory at mir|detect from 2023 onwards. Prior to this, Jan was the Head of Quality Parameters/Quality Manager at Eurofins Food Integrity Control Services GmbH from August 2022 to June 2023. They also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at HMU Health and Medical University from February 2022 to August 2022, where they continued projects and responsibilities from a previous position. Jan's earlier experience includes being a Research Fellow at Jacobs University Bremen from February 2017 to January 2022, where they conducted research in the areas of chemical modifications of RNA and viral infections. Before that, they worked as a Student Research Assistant at Universität Osnabrück from April 2015 to January 2017, focusing on projects related to Glutaredoxin S17, its interaction partners, and iron metabolism, as well as educating students in bachelor courses.

Jan Diesend has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology, General from the University of Bremen. Following that, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biology, General from the Universität Osnabrück. Currently, Jan is pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry at Jacobs University Bremen, which is expected to be completed by 2022.
