Desiree also oversaw Mirror's positive youth development program, STAND, and maintained connections with other Kansas coalitions for collaboration on prevention projects. Desiree served as a Trainer at Mirror from August 2018 to July 2022.

In 2018, they received the Kansas Prevention Community Leader Award from the Kansas Prevention Collaborative.

Desiree's earlier work experience includes being a Youth Development Specialist at Mirror from September 2004 to August 2011. Desiree provided prevention education and programing for youth in Harvey County and delivered Botvin LifeSkills Teacher Trainings in five Kansas counties. Desiree also participated in the University of Washington's research project, training Reno County.
