Dave Edison toured for years as a stand-up comedian, sharing billing with Jay Leno, Adam Sandler, Jeff Foxworthy & many others, plus opening for diverse musicians including Leon Redbone, Tower of Power, Toni Childs & the legendary comedy rock band Blotto. Dave then turned to writing & editing.
He co-wrote (& appeared in) the cult sci-fi feature “Steel and Lace,” won Sony/AFI’s Visions of US Award (as judged by a panel headed by Francis Ford Coppola), & served as postproduction supervisor for “The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show” on FOX late-night. Dave produced & edited the stand-up comedy DVD “Dom Irrera: Is This Thing On?,” edited short films including the award-winning “Shorty & Morty” (which he directed), the Daytime Emmy-winning reality series “Last Shot with Judge Gunn,” the award-winning sitcom pilot “Life Interrupted,” documentary specials for The Reelz Network, the comedy series “The Sweet Smell of Excess” & “Bottoms” for The R-Net Health Network, the sci-fi parody “Mystic Cosmic Patrol,” & was an animator & the editor of three animated TV specials starring Mark Hamill.
Edison edited feature films including the documentary “Remember The Sultana” from executive producer/narrator Sean Astin, the Big Bear International Film Festival animated selection “Shotokan Man,” the sci-fi films “Doomsday” (winning Best Editing at the Malibu West International Film Festival), “Starship: Rising,” & “Starship: Apocalypse.” Dave’s current projects include the unscripted series “Vintage America with Ginger,” the web series “South of Sanity,” & the star-filled indie sci-fi series “Space Command,” for which he’s also a co-producer.
