Michal Elovitz

Dr. Elovitz is an internationally known and respected physician-scientist in reproductive, maternal and child health, and the founder of the successful Maternal and Child Research Center. She currently serves as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania in addition to Vice Chair for Translational Research.

Dr. Elovitz’s current research program has focused on understanding biological underpinnings of adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as preterm birth and preeclampsia, acknowledging the impact of environmental exposures and lived experiences on biological processes.

Dr. Elovitz is an author on over 150 publications, has served on several NIH study sections, is an avid mentor for physician-scientists, and is an advocate for women’s health. She co-founded and now directs the Women’s Health Collaborative, an organization that serves to advance equity for women in science and medicine and advances research in women’s health.
