Sharon Callister

Sharon’s extensive experience in the Christian not-for-profit sector and strong leadership qualities led to her appointment as Mission Australia’s CEO in March 2022. Previously employed as CEO of the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association Queensland (2018-21), The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus (2008-18) and The Salvation Army Humanitarian Mission Services (2012-14), Sharon brings extensive leadership experience and knowledge of managing large service delivery organizations, especially within the aged care and social services sectors. During her time as CEO of The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus, Sharon was responsible for overseeing 16 residential services, 7 retirement villages and over 1,400 staff. Sharon is a strategic thinker who applies her Christian faith and empathy towards others in her servant style of leadership. With qualifications and experience working as a Registered Nurse at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sharon is also passionate about helping others. Sharon holds a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration.
