Susannah Cunningham

Susannah Cunningham is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in advocacy, national security, and refugee support. Currently serving as the Manager of Advocacy at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service since March 2021, Susannah is also a National Security Fellow at the Truman National Security Project, contributing to national security solutions. As co-founder and Executive Director of Only Through US, Susannah has focused on community resilience and policymaking for U.S. protection. Previous roles include Development Director at the Center for American Progress, where initiatives aimed to end mass atrocities, and Director of Communications & Development at the Project on Middle East Democracy. Susannah's early career includes co-founding the Refugee Legal Aid Project with St. Andrew's Refugee Services and managing a program at the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies. Susannah holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Theatre from Northwestern University.
