Alaina Herrington

Alaina Herrington, DNP, RN, FAAN, FSSH, ANEF, CHSE-A, serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Simulation and Clinical Affairs at Mississippi State University since October 2023. Previously, Herrington held key positions at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, including Director of the Judith Gore Gearhart Clinical Skills Center and Director of the Mississippi Academy for Simulation Training, where efforts focused on enhancing clinical skills assessment and developing state-wide simulation-based training programs for nursing faculty. With a robust background in simulation education, Herrington has also worked as a Simulation Nurse Educator at Laerdal Medical and directed the Simulation Center at Hinds Community College, supporting faculty development for nursing and allied health programs. Herrington's early career included roles at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in talent acquisition and orthopedic coordination. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Samford University and a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Mississippi.
