John Walters

John Walters is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technology management, community engagement, and consulting within various sectors. Currently serving as the Director of the Office of Technology Management at Mississippi State University since January 2024, Walters oversees the IP/patent portfolio and technology transfer licensing opportunities. Previous roles include Community Engagement Manager at Procurated, NIGP Program Director at Periscope Holdings, and Director of Technology Development at Stage 3 Separation, where responsibilities spanned technology strategy formulation and project management. As a co-founder of Periscope Holdings, Walters held P&L responsibility for the NIGP Code Services division and contributed to various strategic initiatives. Walters also served as an adjunct professor at St. Edward's University, imparting knowledge in eCommerce and finance. Notably, Walters began a career in consulting with Andersen Consulting, managing projects and contributing to thought leadership. Education includes an MBA in Finance and Economics and a BBA in Marketing, both from Mississippi State University.
