Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated EU Public Affairs Lead to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will contribute to drive the development and execution of our public policy strategy at the EU level and will own the relation with the EU institutions.
The role is reporting to our Global Head of Public Affairs & Communications
The position is based in Brussels
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze public policy issues and developments related to AI in the UE.
Influence and direct business priorities and translate them into a policy strategy at the EU level.
Engage with external stakeholders, policymakers, industry players, key opinion leaders to shape political dialogue on AI and technology policy.
Identify, prioritize and craft responses to policy issues that may affect Mistral AI and understand the impact they may have on Mistral AI’s community.
Solve policy challenges with multiple approaches.
Drive and coordinate policy campaigns to support Mistral’s advocacy work
Track and advise on important changes in regulatory or legislative matters affecting the EU to support cross-functional work on compliance with regulatory requirements and inform business and product decisions.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in public affairs and policy advocacy
Qualifications & profiles
10+ years of professional experience
Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is a plus.
8+ years of experience in public affairs, policy research, or a related role.
Experience in the technology sector is a strong plus but not required.
Strong understanding of the EU policy landscape related to AI, technology
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Advanced advocacy skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and concise briefings.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
