Role Summary 

  • We are seeking a dynamic and motivated EU Public Affairs Lead to join our growing team.
  • The successful candidate will contribute to drive the development and execution of our public policy strategy at the EU level and will own the relation with the EU institutions.  
  • The role is reporting to our Global Head of Public Affairs & Communications
  • The position is based in Brussels

Key Responsibilities 

  • Monitor and analyze public policy issues and developments related to AI in the UE.
  • Influence and direct business priorities and translate them into a policy strategy at the EU level. 
  • Engage with external stakeholders, policymakers, industry players, key opinion leaders to shape political dialogue on AI and technology policy. 
  • Identify, prioritize and craft responses to policy issues that may affect Mistral AI and understand the impact they may have on Mistral AI’s community.
  • Solve policy challenges with multiple approaches.  
  • Drive and coordinate policy campaigns to support Mistral’s advocacy work
  • Track and advise on important changes in regulatory or legislative matters affecting the EU to support cross-functional work on compliance with regulatory requirements and inform business and product decisions. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in public affairs and policy advocacy

Qualifications & profiles

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in public affairs, policy research, or a related role.
  • Experience in the technology sector is a strong plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of the EU policy landscape related to AI, technology
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced advocacy skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and concise briefings.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Now, it would be ideal if you :  *Have a very strong expertise of the EU regulatory frameworks in AI  *Have already worked in-house or served in a GenAI company
