Chris Escamilla has a strong background in leadership and management, with diverse roles in various organizations. Chris started their career in the United States Marine Corps in 1993, where they held various junior officer roles until 2008. Chris then moved on to positions such as Chief of Policy Coordination Branch at Combined Forces Command and Commanding Officer of the USMC Artillery Battalion. In 2014, Escamilla served as Deputy Director of Budget and Execution at Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps. Chris also held the role of Commanding Officer at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji Japan and Branch Head of Manpower Plans, Programs, and Budget at Manpower and Reserve Affairs. Their most recent experiences include being the Chief Growth Officer at Fend Incorporated and the Chief Operating Officer at Mistral Group.

Chris Escamilla's education history includes various degrees and certifications. Chris obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy in 1993. Chris later pursued further education and earned a Master's Degree in National Security Studies from the American Military University between 2005 and 2010. In 2013 and 2014, Chris attended the Marine Corps War College, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies. In 2015 and 2016, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, participating in a Marine Corps Fellow program known as "Seminar XXI" focused on Marine-related topics. Continuing their professional development, Chris enrolled in the Advanced Management Program (AMP) 200 at Harvard Business School, completing it in 2021. In 2022, they attended The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth for a program called "Next Step: Transition to Business." Additionally, Chris obtained a certification in "Brad Feld on Raising Capital" from LinkedIn in February 2022.
