Rahina Zarma Ph. D is an experienced policy advisor and legal professional with a strong background in policy and strategy development. Currently serving as the Senior Policy Advisor and Policy Team Lead at Mitacs since October 2021, Rahina Zarma is responsible for team leadership, stakeholder engagement, research and analysis, communication, and monitoring and evaluation. Prior to this role, Rahina Zarma held positions as a Senior Policy Advisor at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School and several research and teaching assistant roles at York University and the University of Saskatchewan. Additional experience includes consulting for organizations such as The World Bank and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and IDPs, as well as serving as a Protection and Legal Officer. Rahina Zarma holds a PhD in Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, as well as an L.L.M from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor's in Law from the University of Jos.
